2026-07-24 Design Remediation Record

Superseded — 2026-07-24

The D1–D10 table remains the dated delivery record; as of 2026-08-02 its current-state readings are superseded by Program Masterplan — the unified Print→Fine-tune flow replaces D2’s silent-no-op framing, the shared --qw-* token layer confirms D3, and nine single-scroll settings sections replace D6’s Appearance workspace. D9’s enriched unavailable state remains current; the scoreboard and north-star scores were not browser-remeasured. Preserved as observed.

Original synthesis (2026-07-24)

The product already has a brilliant progressive-disclosure Studio and a charismatic Starter hero — then dilutes itself with five token namespaces, inverted type weights, dual equal CTAs, and a Settings density cliff (PDF 52 controls vs KI 8). Fix tokens once, hierarchy second, density third. Bench = proof lab; ship via release-owner locked pipeline.

✅ D1–D10 resolution table

Status vocabulary: done, retracted, verified—no action. Bench evidence: Design Remediation Patch Spec + the surface audits below.

IDStatusResolution
D1doneStep-title/CTA hierarchy delivered (step title + primary CTA weights raised). The same-size print/play outputs are accepted: fill and label distinguish them, so no size demotion was applied.
D2retractedEditor entry is already gated and labeled — the “Blatt bearbeiten” fine-tune entry explains itself; no silent no-op exists.
D3doneCanonical violet unified to base #6d28d9 / deep #5b21b6 across the five fork namespaces; stable token names retained for pipeline safety.
D4retractedThe builder already renders one column (qwizz-builder.css:406-409) and the step summary already carries scent; the original prescription would have regressed the current build.
D5verified—no actionShared values converge where intended; the player theme moods (dark/retro/cyber/love/aqua) and stable namespace names remain by design — killing them was rejected.
D6done”Appearance” workspace created in Settings (7 tabs), PDF density reduced, and AI gating copy already exists — the empty-screen complaint is addressed.
D7doneMetric-card hierarchy delivered (weight + soft tiles). The proposed shared heavy admin H1 was rejected to preserve WordPress-native admin hierarchy.
D8doneSubject-card hover lift delivered with a prefers-reduced-motion guard.
D9doneEnriched player/library unavailable state delivered (icon, heading, copy, filtered CTA into Studio).
D10doneImplemented as the product-wide comfortable/compact density control plus compact fine-tune spacing — the intent landed without a risky global spacing rewrite (47 paddings → ~8).

Final tally: 7 done · 2 retracted · 1 verified—no action.

Weakest shared lens at audit time: design-token discipline (1–2 everywhere). Strongest: escape hatches on public surfaces + Settings search scent.

🎯 North-star principles (retrospective)

  1. One palette — tokens-palette ✅ delivered as D3
  2. Content > chrome — Player card is the model; Studio should inherit its calm
  3. One primary per decision point — never two equal-Fitts peers (D1)
  4. Progressive disclosure by default — Studio step machine is the model; Settings PDF tab was the anti-model (D6)
  5. Every affordance either works or explains why not (D2 — already true, retracted)
  6. Juice = anticipation + continuity, not decoration (D8/D9)

✅ Do not break (standing constraints)

  • Studio step collapse + Change escape hatch
  • Starter hero AD + “nothing auto-published” trust
  • Settings search + saved-status chip
  • Player theme moods (dark/retro/cyber/love/aqua)
  • FE-1 / FE-8 remediations already on bench

No source repo / locked signed pipeline (BUILDING.md). These resolutions were authored and verified on the wrdp bench as development artifacts; release adoption is the release owner’s decision through the signed pipeline. See the Design Remediation Patch Spec for the merge-ready intent.
